The Graduate Pharmacy Intern will apply pharmacy education and training to real-world practice, assist with pharmacy operations, and gain experience in patient care, immunizations, regulatory compliance, and team mentoring under the supervision of leaders. The position involves learning, growing, and contributing to improving healthcare while preparing for a pharmacist role.
Job Responsibility:

supporting pharmacists and technicians to improve patient health
maintaining pharmacy workflow procedures
creating positive patient experiences with empathy and personalized care
offering counseling and gathering patient medical history
calling prescribers to clarify or modify prescriptions
coaching and mentoring pharmacy team members
contributing to inventory activities such as cycle counts and medication delivery
improving clinical and technical knowledge
complying with laws, regulations, and policies
delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing)
preparing and administering vaccines
educating patients about vaccines
monitoring for adverse reactions to vaccines.
Requirements:
PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
ability to switch tasks to meet patient and business needs
ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
use and understand verbal and written communication
proficiency in mathematical reasoning for pharmacy-related tasks
problem resolution skills
physical demands such as mobility, lifting, scanning, and bagging items
adherence to spoken instructions.
Nice to have:
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
ability to become immunization certified
proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
