As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will transition from your pharmacy education to real-world practice, preparing for a Pharmacist role. You will assist pharmacy teams in fulfilling prescriptions accurately and safely, deliver caring patient experiences, and grow your knowledge through a comprehensive training roadmap. Responsibilities include supporting pharmacy procedures and compliance, offering immunizations, inventory management, and responding to patient needs.
Job Responsibility:
Assist pharmacists and technicians in managing and improving patient health
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Provide caring service to exceed patient expectations
Counsel patients and solicit medical history under the supervision of a pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions
Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory
Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members
Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing as allowable by law
Respond to adverse reactions and report as needed
Comply with laws and CVS policies to ensure patient safety.
Requirements:
PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening
Ability to use math to solve a problem
Identifying patient or colleague interactions and resolving issues
Physically mobile and capable of lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally and lesser amounts frequently.
Nice to have:
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
