Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Interns support pharmacy teams in meeting CVS Health's promises and developing skills toward obtaining a Pharmacist role. Responsibilities include pharmacy operations, maintaining compliance, interacting compassionately with patients, and offering additional health care services like immunizations. This role emphasizes professional growth, patient care, and leadership within pharmacy locations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (e.g., production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
  • solving or escalating patient problems with compassion
  • maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws and CVS regulations
  • actively seeking opportunities to assist patients by offering immunizations and answering medical questions
  • completing basic inventory activities and routine pharmacy operations
  • supporting pharmacy leadership in day-to-day pharmacy functions
  • learning and applying professional pharmaceutical standards.

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • failure to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation will result in separation of employment
  • must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • ability to become immunization certified
  • proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
