Job Description:

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will apply your pharmacy school knowledge to real-world practice under the guidance of a preceptor and District Leader. Responsibilities include assisting pharmacy operations, patient safety, prescription fulfillment, and offering patient care services such as immunizations. Through hands-on experience, training, and mentoring, you will prepare for responsibilities as a licensed pharmacist.

Job Responsibility:

Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
Offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and soliciting information on a patient’s medical history to provide optimal care
Taking telephonic prescriptions from the prescriber
Maintaining the highest level of self-awareness and providing in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members
Completing basic inventory activities, accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs
Understanding and complying with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
Delivering additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics

Requirements:

PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
Failure to obtain required Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation will result in separation of employment
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
