As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school learning to real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role. You will build skills in patient safety, quality assurance, error prevention, and customer care through hands-on experience and training. Responsibilities include fulfilling prescriptions accurately, offering compassionate care, maintaining inventory, and supporting pharmacy operations. You will assist with immunizations and point-of-care testing as laws permit, while gaining leadership experience and meeting business needs in various locations.
Job Responsibility:
Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
Offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and soliciting information on a patient’s medical history to provide optimal care
Maintaining the highest level of self-awareness and providing in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring
Completing basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset
Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs
Understanding and complying with relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Delivering additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing
Requirements:
PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
Failure to obtain required Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation will result in separation of employment
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Nice to have:
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
