As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice while developing your skills in preparation for a Pharmacist role. Your responsibilities include supporting pharmacy teams in operations, enhancing patient safety, and improving customer experiences. You will undergo comprehensive training within 120 days of graduation and gain experience managing pharmacy workstations, providing immunizations, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
Offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and soliciting information on a patient’s medical history to provide optimal care
Taking telephonic prescriptions from the prescriber, and calling the prescriber to clarify prescriptions
Maintaining the highest level of self-awareness and providing in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members
Completing basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and cycle counts
Contributing to a high-performing team and being receptive to feedback
Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe team dynamic
Understanding and complying with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards
Delivering additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing
Requirements:
PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Nice to have:
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
