As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education and practice into real-world setting, supporting operations within CVS Health retail locations while deepening your understanding of patient safety, compliance, and pharmacy operations
Job Responsibility:
Supporting pharmacists and technicians to manage and improve patient health
following pharmacy workflow procedures
creating personalized moments while serving patients
counseling and answering medical questions under supervision
calling prescribers for medication clarification
mentoring pharmacy team members
maintaining inventory activities
contributing to high-performing pharmacy teams
traveling to work shifts in the market
complying with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies
delivering patient health services like immunizations and point-of-care testing
Requirements:
PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
proficiency in mathematical reasoning
problem resolution skills
mobility and ability to remain upright for extended periods
ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
close visual acuity for detailed activities
ability to receive and exchange detailed information through oral communication
Nice to have:
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
ability to become immunization certified
proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
