Directs, manages and oversees Pharmacy assign programs, activities and operations. Ensures adherence to established policies and procedures. Prepares and presents in-service educational programs to medical and pharmacy staff. Patient care assignment may include: Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.

Coordinate pharmaceutical services functions within pharmacy to include drug distribution, purchasing and procurement activities in a cost-effective manner
Develop, implement and monitor clinical pharmacy programs to include Medication Usage Evaluation (MUE) programs
Prepare monographs for drugs going the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
Coordinate clinical clerkship rotations for pharmacy students
Manage formulary and non-formulary drug approvals and criteria enforcement
Prepare, publish and distribute Pharmacy and Therapeutics newsletter
Develop and submit proposals and articles
conduct presentations at educational and research meetings
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
Requirements:
Program Graduate
Accredited College of Pharmacy
5 years directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
