Job Description:

We are seeking caring, reliable and adaptable Personal Care Assistants to support students with additional physical, medical or personal care needs in a welcoming school environment in Bolton. Starting from mid May, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to help young people access their learning with confidence, dignity and independence. As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll work closely with staff to ensure pupils receive consistent, compassionate and respectful support throughout the school day.

Job Responsibility:

Provide personal care support, including toileting, mobility assistance, hygiene routines and feeding, following each pupil’s individual care plan
Work alongside teachers, SEN teams and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Build warm, trusting relationships with pupils, understanding their strengths, preferences and support needs
Assist with classroom tasks, small‑group work and individual activities, helping pupils remain engaged and included
Encourage independence, communication and social development wherever possible
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and a respectful approach at all times
Follow health and safety procedures, manual handling guidance and safeguarding policies consistently

Requirements:

Experience within the last two years in personal care, SEN support, health care or a related setting
A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to support young people with physical or medical needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills, working confidently alongside teaching and support staff
Understanding of safeguarding, personal care boundaries and professional conduct
Two professional references from the last two years, preferably from an education or care environment
Have the legal right to work in the UK
