We are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager to join our team in West LA. This contract position requires expertise in handling multi-state payroll operations for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role is hybrid, with onsite presence required on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. For the right candidate, this could lead to a full-time offer.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage a team of Payroll Associates, setting daily priorities and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently
Oversee the accurate processing of semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states
Review and approve journal entries related to payroll activities
Monitor and reconcile 401(k) transactions with the plan provider
Conduct regular audits of payroll data, benefits, and wage verifications to ensure compliance and accuracy
Respond to internal reporting requests and provide timely updates
Coordinate with external vendors by submitting and managing service tickets
Support payroll managers in preparing for upcoming projects and organizational changes
Ensure adherence to payroll policies and practices while maintaining confidentiality
Perform additional duties as assigned to meet operational needs
Requirements:
Proficient in Workday Payroll and Time Tracking systems
Familiarity with multi-state payroll processes and compliance
Strong knowledge of payroll principles, including benefits and wage audits
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Background in accounting or related financial expertise
Highly detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for payroll analysis and reporting
