Job Description:

Play a crucial part in ensuring employees are compensated accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with payroll regulations. Opportunity to advance payroll career while working with a supportive and collaborative team.

Job Responsibility:

Process semi-monthly, biweekly, or weekly payroll for employees
Maintain payroll records including wage adjustments, benefit deductions, and tax withholding
Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
Respond to employee inquiries about payroll, deductions, or tax issues
Assist with annual reporting requirements including W-2 and 1099 processing
Calculate and process bonuses, overtime, and commissions
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate onboarding of employee information
Stay updated on payroll laws and regulations
Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors or agencies

Requirements:

High school diploma required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
2+ years of payroll experience
Experience with multi-state payroll or construction-specific payroll a plus
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or QuickBooks)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive employee data with confidentiality

Nice to have:

Multi-state payroll experience
Construction-specific payroll experience
