We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to join our Manufacturing client in Markham and support the processing of the company's payroll.
Job Responsibility:
Gather information on hours worked for each employee, calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc., and prepare and execute payroll
Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors in a timely and professional manner
Process taxes and payment of employee benefits, and keep track of pay rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information, etc.
Manage and process short-term disability cases in accordance with company policies
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator
Working towards or holding a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) l is considered an asset
Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and Canadian regulations
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and familiarity with payroll software (ADP/Ceridian)
Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
Experience processing payrolls for multiprovincial employees is considered an asset
