Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and compliant processing of payroll operations for a large and diverse workforce.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and oversee payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing for all employees
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, collaborating with external payroll providers to maintain up-to-date tax rates
Implement and maintain payroll systems, ensuring integration with HR and financial platforms for seamless operations
Prepare and analyze detailed payroll reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership
Develop and enforce payroll policies and procedures to standardize processes and maintain compliance
Provide guidance and training to payroll team members to enhance their skills and performance
Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to verify payroll accuracy and address discrepancies
Manage relationships with external payroll vendors to ensure service quality and alignment with organizational needs
Establish and maintain the payroll department budget, optimizing resources efficiently
Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to align payroll with broader organizational goals

Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated organizational and time management capabilities to handle multiple priorities
Experience with Workday is highly preferred
Familiarity with payroll for large, complex organizations and multi-state operations
Certified Payroll certification is strongly desired
