We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Clerk to support high-volume, biweekly payroll processing. This role is responsible for auditing payroll data, processing adjustments, supporting onboarding and offboarding payroll activities, and serving as a resource for employee payroll inquiries.
Job Responsibility:
Communicate with supervisors and managers to resolve missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate payroll data and correct discrepancies identified during audits
Support high-volume, biweekly payroll processing
Enter and process approved payroll corrections and prior period adjustments
Calculate and process retroactive payments and manual pay adjustments as needed
Process final pay for terminated employees through the payroll system or manually when required
Partner with HR to manage payroll for employees on Leave of Absence, including timecard updates
Maintain payroll records to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal/state wage and tax reporting requirements
Assist with onboarding and offboarding payroll activities
Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and accrual balances
Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
1-3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax reporting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with HR and managers
