We are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Madison Heights, Michigan. In this role, you will manage scheduling and registration tasks while providing exceptional support to patients and clinical staff. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Responsibility:
Handle a significant volume of incoming calls to coordinate patient scheduling efficiently
Arrange medical appointments and procedures across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines
Provide clear and accurate responses to patient inquiries, directing them to the appropriate departments
Communicate regularly with clinical teams to update patient status and coordinate scheduling
Work collaboratively with medical professionals to enhance scheduling processes and patient access
Utilize multiple technology systems simultaneously to complete scheduling and registration tasks
Accurately collect and record demographic, billing, and insurance information from patients or their representatives
Educate patients about preparation requirements and procedures following established protocols
Inform patients of anticipated co-pays and deductibles, ensuring transparency regarding payment expectations
Analyze financial details in registration systems and relay relevant information to patients and the billing office
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of experience in a call center or similar customer service role
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong ability to multitask and navigate multiple computer systems effectively
Proficiency in handling high call volumes while maintaining professionalism
Excellent customer service and communication abilities
Nice to have:
Familiarity with medical terminology or experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
Previous experience in patient scheduling or registration is advantageous
