Job Description:

The Pastry Commis No. 1 is responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of all pastry items in the kitchen. This role involves following recipes and maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and hygiene.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the preparation of a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards
  • Measure and prepare ingredients for pastry production, ensuring freshness and quality. Assist in inventory management and restocking as needed
  • Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished products, ensuring consistency in flavor, texture, and appearance
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and tools safely and efficiently
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service. Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and manage workflow
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area. Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure compliance with hygiene standards
  • Assist in developing new pastry recipes and presentations, contributing to seasonal menus and special events

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with various baking methods and techniques
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for dessert creation
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
