Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Paralegal to join our legal team on a contract basis in Rockville, Maryland. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in civil litigation, discovery processes, and trial preparation, contributing to the effective management of legal cases. This position offers an opportunity to apply your knowledge and organizational skills to support attorneys in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct thorough legal research and compile information relevant to cases
Assist in managing the discovery process, including document review and organization
Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials, including drafting legal documents and summarizing case details
Utilize case management software to track case progress and maintain detailed records
Organize and maintain legal files to ensure accessibility and accuracy
Communicate with clients and witnesses to gather information and provide updates
Prepare and file court documents in compliance with legal standards and deadlines
Support attorneys in civil litigation processes by drafting pleadings and motions
Analyze and summarize depositions, trial transcripts, and other legal documents.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Paralegal, particularly in civil litigation and trial preparation
Strong understanding of discovery procedures and legal documentation
Proficiency in using case management software and other legal tools
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Familiarity with court filing procedures and deadlines
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certification preferred.
