Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with a law firm in the Greater Providence area in their search for a Paralegal to join their practice. This role is fully in-office and the firm practices within consumer collections. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in debt collection or civil litigation and familiarity with District Court procedures in RI and/or MA. Responsibilities include preparing and filing legal documents, managing case files, and assisting attorneys with trial preparation.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and file legal documents related to debt collection matters, including complaints, motions, and discovery
Draft and review motions for summary judgment and judgment on the pleadings
Manage case files and court calendars
Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Assist attorneys with trial preparation and case strategy
Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filings in District Court

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in debt collection or civil litigation
Familiarity with District Court procedures in RI and/or MA
Strong legal writing and research skills
Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred

Nice to have:

Drafting and filing motions for summary judgment and judgment on the pleadings
Experience with electronic filing systems in RI and MA courts
