Job Description:

The Pantry Cook at The Westin St. Francis prepares cold and hot foods, ensures food quality and adherence to standards, follows safety policies, maintains a clean and professional appearance, and supports team goals.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and cook food
monitor food quality
test food cooking levels
clean and sanitize workplace
follow company policies
maintain professional appearance
build positive team relationships and meet guest service needs
perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, and reaching.

Requirements:

Prepare plate and platter presentations for banquets
prepare cold foods
operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare foods
prepare, cook, and store ingredients
weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
monitor food quality
test foods for proper cooking
ensure food quality standards
clean and sanitize kitchen area, tables, tools, and equipment
set up and break down work station
check appliance and food temperatures
follow company safety and security policies
report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions
complete safety training
maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
develop positive working relationships
support team goals
adhere to quality expectations
reach, bend, twist, and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
at least 2 years of related work experience.
