Job Description:

Cloud Temple is a sovereign, French and European public cloud provider. We design and operate critical cloud platforms that are independent of American and Chinese hyperscalers, with stringent requirements in terms of security, compliance and resilience. In this context, we are strengthening our Platform as a Service (PaaS) team and recruiting a PaaS Engineering Manager (M/F), who will serve as both a hands-on manager and technical leader, responsible for the design, development and operation of our PaaS services. The main products within the scope are: OpenShift as a Service; Kubernetes as a Service; Load Balancer as a Service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop and operate production-grade PaaS platforms
  • Actively participate in architectural decisions (design, scalability, security, resilience)
  • Being directly involved in the build: prototyping, integration, automation, continuous improvement
  • Ensure the technical consistency, maintainability, and scalability of platforms
  • Be responsible for the availability, performance, and reliability of PaaS services
  • Overseeing the run, MCO and incident management
  • Participate in the organisation and rotation of the team's on-call duties
  • Implement and improve observability (monitoring, alerting, logging)
  • Conduct root cause analyses and oversee corrective actions
  • Manage a team of engineers
  • Organise the team's work (agile rituals, prioritisation, coordination)
  • Supporting the development of technical skills
  • Participate in recruitment as the team grows
  • Ensure clear, factual and regular reporting to the technical management
  • Provide expert technical support to sales and pre-sales teams on high-stakes projects
  • Participate in the technical scoping, customer needs analysis and target architecture design phases
  • Work on complex or strategic projects requiring advanced PaaS expertise
  • Contribute to securing technical commitments (feasibility, performance, safety, operation)
  • Be a key technical contact during customer discussions on PaaS topics
  • Integrate security and compliance constraints (SecNumCloud, HDS) from the design stage of platforms
  • Ensure their application in architectures, processes and operations
  • Work closely with the security and compliance teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering school or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or cloud
  • Previous experience as a technical lead or technical team manager
  • Comfortable with critical production environments
  • Ability to make fundamental technical decisions
  • Expertise in container ecosystems (Kubernetes, Docker) and PaaS platforms (ideally OpenShift, VMware, OpenStack)
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and continuous integration/deployment pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
  • Solid understanding of cloud architectures (IaaS/PaaS), networks (VPC, firewalling) and security best practices (knowledge of SecNumCloud/HDS is a plus)
