Job Description:

The Overnight Pastry Cook II at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island is responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, ensuring quality standards, operating kitchen appliances, and maintaining culinary and safety standards. The role involves collaboration with a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while adhering to 'Gold Standards' and company policies.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
Monitor food quality while preparing food
Set up and break down work station
Serve food in proper portions
Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Develop positive working relationships
Follow company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
At least 1 year of related work experience
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
Ability to follow safety and security policies and procedures
Clear and professional communication skills
Positive working relationships and team collaboration skills.
