The Overhead Distribution Project Manager oversees all phases of overhead electrical distribution projects—from estimating and planning through execution and closeout. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, operational excellence, and financial acumen to drive successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, organize, and manage multiple overhead distribution projects simultaneously
Oversee construction, maintenance, and upgrade work on overhead power lines and related infrastructure
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and customer specifications
Coordinate with utilities, municipalities, and internal teams to ensure efficient project execution
Manage materials, equipment, and labor resources to meet project schedules and budgets
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety performance
Lead and develop project support staff to achieve operational excellence
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Support workforce planning, training, and performance management initiatives
Foster collaboration and clear communication across project teams and departments
Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
Track and report project costs, productivity, and profitability
Identify opportunities to improve profit margins and operational efficiency
Manage billing, change orders, and contract documentation to ensure timely and accurate financial results
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, utilities, and partners
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships
Provide timely project updates, address issues proactively, and ensure client satisfaction
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
equivalent experience accepted
Minimum 5–10 years of project management experience in overhead power distribution or utility construction
Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects from start to finish
Strong understanding of NESC, OSHA, and utility standards
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and financial tracking tools
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
