Job Description:

Memphis, TN client seeking an Oracle PL/SQL Developer for a contract role to design and maintain robust, scalable software architecture for one or more elements of software systems; to oversee programming, implementation and maintenance revisions of specified projects; and to evaluate technologies and provide consultation regarding applications and systems needs related to these elements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Information Systems or Management from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Masters degree strongly preferred
  • Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience required to include seven (7) years of software and development experience
  • Five (5) years hands-on programming experience in database and data driven applications strongly preferred
  • Experience in writing Packages for data loads
  • Experience creating and maintained Stored Procedure (Packages, Procedures, Function, and anonymous block) with Oracle PL/SQL
  • Experience using Cursors to pull data from the Database
  • Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, explain plan etc
  • Experience with external tables, and high volume data import into Oracle DB
  • At least 8+ years of experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer
  • Strong skills in Oracle server side programming which includes SQL, SQL*Plus, PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Cursors, Triggers, Views, Materialize Views, Temporary tables, Object Oriented PL/SQL Programming, Job, Schedulers, PL/SQL Web-services, Java Stored Procedures and Oracle AQ
  • Hands on experience on XML generation inside PL/SQL components
  • Strong Skills in data analysis, data modeling, development, testing and documentation
  • Strong skills on automating jobs using UNIX Shell scripts to run all the SQL files in a directory by invoking SQL *Plus
  • Hands on writing Cursors, User-defined Object types, Records, and Tables in PL/SQL Programming for generating worksheets, Arrays & Queues
  • Strong Skills in Exception Handling extensively debug PL/SQL Code, DDL, DML and display the error messages in the application
  • Experience in creating Materialized Views and Indexes for better performance of summary tables, Autonomous Transactions, Coding Dynamic SQL Statements
  • Experience in SQL Tuning to improve the query performance by identifying key fields, adding/removing tables/fields, and use of indexes
  • Good understanding of Oracle Explain Plan
