Job Description:

A leading international energy and infrastructure organisation, headquartered in Ireland and operating across Europe, is expanding its digital infrastructure and data centre capability as part of a wider energy transition and resilience strategy. This is a senior appointment with a clear mandate to establish, structure, and scale data centre operations within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading operational delivery across data centre construction and energy-enabled data centre projects
  • Building and developing a dedicated data centre operations and delivery team
  • Establishing governance, operating models, and assurance processes aligned with regulated energy environments
  • Creating standard operating procedures from early engagement and tender through construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Integrating data centre delivery with wider energy, power, and grid infrastructure strategies
  • Acting as a senior client and stakeholder interface with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centre operators
  • Owning operational performance across programme, cost control, quality, safety, and risk
  • Providing forward planning and visibility across resources, pipeline, and delivery commitments over the next two to four quarters
  • Supporting long-term growth of the data centre portfolio in line with energy transition objectives

Requirements:

  • Senior leadership roles such as Operations Director, Programme Director, Project Director, or Senior Contracts Manager within data centres, energy, power, or mission critical infrastructure
  • Delivery of complex data centre construction and commissioning programmes
  • Experience operating within regulated, safety-critical, or highly governed environments
  • Strong understanding of how data centres interact with power generation, grid connection, energy resilience, and sustainability requirements
  • Proven ability to build teams, systems, and delivery frameworks from the ground up
  • Commercial and operational leadership across cost control, forecasting, risk management, and performance assurance
  • Confidence engaging with hyperscale clients, utilities, regulators, and senior stakeholders
  • Backgrounds spanning energy transition, power generation, utilities, data centres, or critical infrastructure are particularly relevant.
