Job Description:

Brandeis University’s Rabb School of Continuing Studies is seeking a skilled online course developer to design and build a new three credit asynchronous online course titled: RITM 135 Technology Innovation, Product Development, and Strategic Leadership. This role is for an experienced academic and curriculum strategist to serve as an Online Course Developer within Brandeis Online’s graduate program. The developer will design and build asynchronous, instructor-facilitated online courses aligned with institutional learning outcomes, accreditation standards, and workforce relevance. This course explores innovation lifecycles, product design principles, strategic decision-making, and leadership in technology organizations. Students learn to guide innovation initiatives from concept through execution, balancing technical feasibility with organizational impact.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and build a new three credit asynchronous online course titled: RITM 135 Technology Innovation, Product Development, and Strategic Leadership
  • Create and/or select elements as outlined in the Brandeis Online Course Standards
  • Develop required components including a Brandeis-compliant syllabus, instructor-created materials informed by current industry knowledge, learning objects, and applied assignments and assessments aligned to course and program outcomes
  • Be responsible for the substantive content and pedagogical strategies of the course
  • Uphold Brandeis’s academic standards and online course development guidelines
  • Collaborate with Brandeis Online staff, adhere to technical requirements for LMS integration, and meet project milestones
  • Submit course drafts at designated intervals for feedback

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Technology Management, Innovation Management, Business Administration (technology focus), Information Systems, Engineering Management, or a closely related field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in technology innovation, product development, digital transformation, or strategic technology leadership
  • Demonstrated experience guiding products or innovation initiatives from concept through launch and lifecycle management
  • Experience with product strategy, roadmap development, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional leadership
  • Minimum 1 year experience developing asynchronous online courses for adult learners in higher education
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms and digital authoring tools
  • Familiarity with analytical tools, collaborative platforms, and interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Strong communication, organization, and independent work skills
  • Familiarity with curriculum design, accreditation standards, and graduate-level rigor
  • Ability to translate interdisciplinary content into engaging, accessible learning pathways
  • Strong writing and editing skills to produce cohesive, learner-centered experiences

Nice to have:

  • Doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Technology Management, Innovation, Business Strategy, Information Systems, Organizational Leadership, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in senior technology leadership, product management, innovation strategy, or executive-level decision-making roles
  • Professional experience as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Product Officer (CPO), VP of Product, Innovation Director, or similar role
  • Experience with innovation frameworks (e.g., Lean Startup, Design Thinking, Stage-Gate, Agile product development)
  • Industry certifications such as PMP, SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent
  • Experience teaching or developing graduate-level online courses
  • Knowledge of global learner personas and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Familiarity with Moodle LMS and digital authoring tools (e.e., H5P)
  • Familiarity with experiential learning models and employer-aligned curriculum
