Job Responsibility:

  • Perform strength, stiffness, and fatigue analysis on different vehicle subsystems (chassis, closures, body structure, powertrain etc)
  • Perform correlation between test and CAE
  • Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis and test work
  • Able to create FEM mesh from CAD or from rough sketches
  • Support design engineers in making sure the parts meet all the durability requirements
  • Able to learn and use different CAE software tools (nCode Design Life, ANSA, MetaPost, OptiStruct, Hyperworks CAE products, ADAMS etc)
  • Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques
  • Participate in new CAE method development, process automation and benchmarking tasks

Requirements:

  • 5 + years of related experience
  • Bachelor's or a higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in vehicle level CAE analysis, testing and development
  • Experience with performing linear analysis, non-linear analysis, fatigue analysis, design optimization, dynamic analysis with industry standard CAE tools
  • Sound fundamental knowledge of structures and mechanics of materials
  • Proficiency in using ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, MetaPost, nCode, OptiStruct or similar CAE softwares
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle performance requirements, deriving load cases from requirements, setting performance targets, developing testing and validation plans
