Salt is looking for an experienced Stereo Compositor / Rotoscope Artist to support high-end XR moments, with a particular focus on hero shots that demand precision, consistency, and clean integration into real-time pipelines. This role is all about transforming stereo plates into XR-ready, production-grade layers delivering clean alphas, mattes, and comps that hold up in immersive environments.
Job Responsibility:
Convert stereo footage into clean, predictable, and production-ready alpha layers for XR experiences ensuring visual quality, stereo comfort, and seamless Unity integration
Rotoscope and composite stereo plates into layereddeliverables, including: Subject alphas
Fire / FX elements
Occlusion mattes
Clean plates
Maintain two-eye consistency across high frame rates (e.g. 60fps) and challenging semi-transparent elements such as fire and smoke
Deliver alpha media optimised for Unity ingestion, with reliable edges, colour consistency, and correct pipeline handling
Collaborate closely with production and technical teams to assess early headset tests and advise on reshoot or green-screen pickup requirements where needed
Work efficiently within tight iteration cycles and high frame-count workloads
Requirements:
Strong roto and compositing background with proven production experience (Nuke preferred)
Excellent edge work, despill techniques, and colour matching skills
Confidence handling high-volume frame work under tight timelines
A detail-driven approach and strong QC instincts
Nice to have:
Experience compositing for immersive, XR, or stereo viewing
Understanding of viewer comfort considerations, including stereo fatigue minimisation and depth consistency
