Job Description:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures using radioactive materials and imaging equipment. This role involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating specialized imaging equipment, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate test results and exceptional patient care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety guidelines
  • Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET/CT scanners
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure safety and comfort
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and radiation safety regulations
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to analyze imaging results
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials
  • Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and industry best practices

Requirements:

  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field
  • Valid Vermont state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine preferred (new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered)
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and patient-care skills
