We are looking for a NetCool Solution Architect / Senior Solution Integrator to join the BCSS (BA Cloud Software and Services) team. This senior technical role will lead NetCool integration and automation efforts across multi-vendor, multi-technology environments. You will operate in an international setting, collaborating with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to design, build, and deliver robust event and fault management solutions based on the IBM Netcool suite and modern DevOps platforms.
Job Responsibility:
Lead design and delivery of Netcool-based solutions (OMNIbus/ObjectServer, Impact, DASH/WebGUI, TBSM, ITNM, NOI) for multi-vendor, multi-customer environments
Define software modules and produce integration builds
configure, deploy and maintain probes, gateways, ObjectServer automations, impact policies, and operator views
Integrate and validate probes and data sources (SNMP, Syslog, Message Bus, JDBC, CORBA) and vendor-specific probes (Cobra, Nokia NetAct, ZTE, HP-NNM, Huawei, etc.)
Troubleshoot complex issues across Unix/Linux platforms and database backends (DB2, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Implement CI/CD and DevOps practices using Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible
create Ansible playbooks and automation for repeatable deployments
Execute integration and system tests, document builds and test results, and ensure production readiness
Act as technical lead on projects: mentor junior engineers, coordinate with stakeholders, and handle customer and bridge communications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (IT, Telecom) or equivalent experience
strong English communication skills
5–10+ years’ hands-on experience with IBM Netcool suite and multi-vendor integrations
Deep knowledge of Netcool components (ObjectServer, probes, Impact, DASH/WebGUI) and building ObjectServer automations and Impact policies
Strong networking and protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, SNMP, EIF, Syslog) and proven Unix/Linux troubleshooting skills
Scripting and programming skills (Perl/Shell, Python
Java knowledge a plus)
Experience with databases (DB2, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and working with probes and message buses
Practical experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible and microservices architectures
Key soft skills: effective communication, stakeholder management, analytical problem solving, customer/bridge handling and the ability to work independently and mentor others
