We are representing an international pharmaceutical manufacturer that produces essential, life-saving medicines. Their modern 6,700sqm Romford facility is a high-tech, highly regulated environment where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring production machinery operates at peak efficiency. This is a perfect opportunity for a maintenance professional who enjoys a mix of technical challenges and meaningful work.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and perform repairs to ensure minimal downtime and optimal plant performance
Collaborate with management to investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement prevention strategies to eliminate waste
Ensure all maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Fully comply with internal and external EHS requirements (ISO 45001), including completing and reviewing Risk Assessments for your area
Provide specialist engineering support to other departments and assist with the commissioning and setup of new, high-value factory equipment

Requirements:

Proven maintenance engineering background within a GMP or highly regulated environment (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Food, or Medical Devices)
Educated to City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline
Multi-skilled (Mechanical & Electrical) with experience in pumps, motors, and electrical diagnostics
Competence in basic machining (Lathe/Milling) and welding (MIG/ARC)
Knowledge of PLC-based equipment and IEE wiring regulations
