Job Description:

Accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations. Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions. Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced.

Job Responsibility:

Prepares and cooks foods of all types
Reviews and adjusts systems and procedures in the kitchen
Develops new menus and recipes based on standards
Supervises kitchen shift operations
Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
Operates and maintains department equipment
Supports food portion and waste controls
Develops environmentally friendly processes
Checks quality of raw and cooked food products
Creates decorative food displays
Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks
Manages day-to-day operations
Schedules employees
Orders employee uniforms
Provides exceptional customer service
Handles guest problems and complaints
Identifies developmental needs of staff
Participates in interviewing and hiring
Provides performance feedback

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
Knowledge of high quality food products, presentations and flavor
Compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
Knowledge of brand's Safety Standards
Supervisory experience in kitchen operations
