  • Monitor SQL Server performance (CPU, memory, I/O)
  • Review failed jobs, long-running queries, and system alerts
  • Perform routine health checks using tools like SSMS and Foglight
  • Ensure regular backups are completed and verified
  • Perform basic restore operations as needed
  • Manage user accounts, logins, and permissions
  • Support compliance with data security policies
  • Rebuild/reorganize indexes and update statistics
  • Clean up logs and old data
  • Assist in applying database changes or running scripts
  • Document changes and use PowerShell as needed
  • Help write/debug SQL queries
  • Assist in testing/troubleshooting in dev/UAT environments
  • Understand basic database design (normalization, keys, relationships)
  • Automate recurring tasks with T-SQL or PowerShell
  • Maintain documentation and support audit requirements
