Job Responsibility:

  • Interpreting Storyboards and Scripts: Translate storyboard and script concepts into physical Minecraft builds and sets that are practical for events such as dialogue, pranks, timing, etc., utilizing command blocks for interactive elements
  • Realistic Minecraft Survival Builds: Create visually appealing and functional Minecraft Survival builds that maintain realism while ensuring they are not perceived as the work of professional builders
  • Versatile Building Styles: Adapt building styles from "noob" to "pro," "professional," "hacker," and more, depending on the storyline, to create diverse and immersive environments
  • Efficient Building Techniques: Utilize common building techniques and tools such as WorldEdit to construct builds efficiently and effectively, optimizing the building process
  • Engaging Gameplay Moments: Design unique gameplay moments and level elements within scripts to captivate the audience and enhance the overall storytelling experience
  • Interactive Functionality with Command Blocks: Utilize command blocks, redstone, datapacks, and mods to add interactive and functional elements to builds, enabling the events of the script to unfold dynamically within the Minecraft world
  • Deadline Management and Time Organization: Effectively manage time to meet project deadlines, ensuring timely completion of builds and adherence to production schedules
  • Meeting Participation: Participate actively in meetings with the creative team to understand project vision, requirements, and updates, contributing insights and ideas to drive project success
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication channels with team members, sharing progress updates, addressing challenges, and collaborating on project tasks to achieve collective goals

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of Game Level Design/Minecraft Building/Set Design
  • A full understanding of Minecraft and all game mechanics
  • A moderate understanding of WorldEdit
  • A moderate understanding of Minecraft Mods, Addons, Datapacks, Resource Packs
  • A experienced understanding of Minecraft commands, command blocks and redstone circuitry
  • Ability to meet and understand deadlines
  • Ability to understand feedback and act on it

Nice to have:

  • Worked with major competitors in this age demographic previously (Prestonplayz, Craftee/LogDotZip, Bionic, xNestorio, Quiff, Donibobes, etc)
  • Worked with a Minecraft Marketplace team
