Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced MicroStrategy Developer to join our IT function in India. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimising enterprise business intelligence solutions using MicroStrategy, enabling data-driven decision-making through high-performance dashboards, reports, and analytics. The individual will work extensively with SQL and GCP BigQuery to manage large-scale data analysis and ensure robust BI solutions for Vodafone Italy’s Business Intelligence and Big Data team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and deliver MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and dossiers
  • Build and maintain the MicroStrategy semantic layer (facts, attributes, metrics, hierarchies)
  • Develop complex metrics, prompts, and filters
  • Write, tune, and optimise advanced SQL queries
  • Optimise performance using aggregates, VLDB properties, and caching techniques
  • Work with GCP BigQuery for large-scale data analysis and query optimisation
  • Implement and manage row-level and object-level security
  • Collaborate with business, data engineering, and cloud teams
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data accuracy and performance
  • Support MicroStrategy administration tasks including user and role management, object security, and access controls
  • Assist with deployment and migration of MicroStrategy objects across environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod) using packages
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers

Requirements:

  • 6–10 years of hands-on MicroStrategy development experience
  • Strong expertise in MicroStrategy Developer, Workstation, and Library
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience handling large and complex datasets
  • Hands-on experience with GCP BigQuery
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling
  • Proven experience in performance tuning and optimisation
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related STEM field
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
  • Italian language skills preferred

Nice to have:

Knowledge of Cloud Data Architecture for Data Warehousing and Agile methodology is an advantage
