We are seeking a Methods Engineer to join our team based in London - St. Martin’s Court. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing construction methods, temporary works, and the associated design assumptions and requirements for the offshore installation of Reinforced Concrete (RC) permanent works structures in the North Sea.
Job Responsibility:
Develop construction sequences and methodologies for offshore RC and steel structures, heavy lifting, transportation, extraction, and rock placement
Review client designs for buildability and compatibility, engaging in market reviews and method evaluations
Create detailed design briefs and construction assumptions to inform detailed designs by lead design consultants
Support supply chain and construction delivery teams in developing strategies for nearshore and offshore construction activities
Assist in developing cost estimates and programmes related to forecasting defined construction activities
Lead a team of engineers and CAD technicians, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with project specifications
Develop and document sourcing and procurement strategies, and assist in the preparation of tenders
Identify, record, and mitigate construction risks, communicating residual risks to delivery teams
Regularly report on the status and resolution of activities to meet delivery programme priorities
Requirements:
Degree and professional qualification in engineering, or working towards one
Relevant experience in planning, designing, or executing offshore construction and operations
Proficiency in CAD software (2D/3D) such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks
Strong leadership skills and the ability to form effective relationships with project teams and stakeholders
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
Good working knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
Experience in 3D and 4D modelling software, design review processes, and BIM clash detection
Nice to have:
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification with temporary works design experience, particularly in offshore applications
Firsthand experience of working offshore with elements such as drilling, dredging, pile/casing driving, heavy lift and transportation, and mooring
Experience in the design and construction of secant piles and offshore grouting operations
