Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Medical Records Technician to join our healthcare team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of electronic medical records, ensuring patient care and compliance are upheld. The role will primarily involve organizing and processing documentation to support the Health Information Management department.

Job Responsibility:

Review and accurately process electronic faxes, ensuring they are integrated into the appropriate patient records
organize and prioritize documentation to manage backlog efficiently and meet deadlines
collaborate with team members to maintain compliance with charting standards and protocols
handle sensitive patient data in line with regulatory and privacy requirements
monitor progress and report discrepancies or concerns to leadership as necessary
independently manage assigned tasks to minimize disruptions to daily operations
assist in improving documentation workflows to enhance operational efficiency
ensure all records are properly maintained and accessible within the electronic medical record system
contribute to team efforts by providing suggestions for process improvements.

Requirements:

Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as Cerner and Epic
strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of documentation accurately
familiarity with healthcare privacy regulations and standards
capability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
ethical and meticulous demeanor with a commitment to organizational values
solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
experience in handling sensitive patient information securely and responsibly.
