Job Description:

We are in search of a Medical Records Clerk to become part of our well-established healthcare team, located in Tacoma, WA. The role entails handling confidential patient records, managing medical documents, and assisting patients from an administrative office setting. This opportunity offers short term contract employment.

Job Responsibility:

Manage confidential patient records with utmost precision and professionalism
Take charge of incoming faxes and ensure they are sorted and filed appropriately
Oversee the process of scanning lab results, x-ray reports, and test results into patient medical records after they have been reviewed by the provider
Facilitate the scanning of documents into charts and import them into the electronic medical record system (EMR)
Serve as a point of contact for patient inquiries and assist them in filling out the Release of Information (ROI) form
Comply with HIPAA guidelines when copying and releasing records
Handle faxing of prescriptions and record requests, primarily involving computer work
Undergo training and provide assistance to multiple clinics as required.

Requirements:

Proven experience in medical records management or a similar role
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, such as NextGen or EPIC.
Proficiency in handling sensitive patient information with confidentiality and integrity.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Competence in using office equipment and computer systems for record scanning and data entry.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to patient information and record handling.
