Medical Records Clerk

• Organize, scan, and maintain confidential patient records to ensure accessibility and accuracy
• Manage incoming faxes, review medical records, and upload lab, x-ray, and test results into the electronic medical record system after provider review
• Sort and file documents into appropriate folders or import them into NextGen electronic medical records
• Assist patients with questions and forms related to their medical records requests
• Copy and release patient records while adhering to healthcare guidelines and regulations
• Process record requests, fax prescriptions, and handle various administrative tasks using computer systems
• Participate in training sessions and shadow experienced staff to understand processes and workflows
• Support multiple clinics by maintaining and updating files in compliance with organizational standards

• Previous experience in medical records management or a related field
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, such as NextGen
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and guidelines for managing patient records
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to work efficiently with faxes, scanning, and data entry
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare providers
• Ability to work on-site and adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment

Experience with additional software such as Epic or similar systems
