A Surgery Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled CCS Medical Coder to support healthcare organizations by accurately coding medical procedures, diagnoses, and professional services for efficient billing and reimbursement processes. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while contributing to the success of Surgical ASC operations.
Job Responsibility:
Accurately assign medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) based on physician documentation and healthcare services rendered
Review patient notes, operative reports, and medical documentation to ensure proper coding for surgical ASC environments
Ensure compliance with all coding guidelines, payer policies, and federal regulations
Collaborate with physicians, billing teams, and administrative units to resolve coding discrepancies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
Experience coding for Surgical Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems like Cerner or Epic
Strong communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced and deadline-driven healthcare environment
