Medical Billing Specialist

• Review patient accounts and billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and submit healthcare claims using UB04 and CMS1500 formats
• Identify and correct errors in billing data, reprocessing claims as necessary
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, collaborating with insurance payers
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other government insurance regulations
• Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams to gather required information
• Utilize medical billing systems, such as Epic, to manage accounts receivable
• Handle appeals and authorizations to address claim denials
• Maintain organized records and meet strict deadlines

• At least 3 years of experience in medical billing
• Strong understanding of ICD-10 and billing processes
• Proficiency in UB04 and CMS1500 claim formats
• Familiarity with Epic systems and other medical billing platforms
• Solid knowledge of insurance claims procedures, including Medicare and Medicaid
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage accounts receivable effectively and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with clinical and administrative teams
