Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter on a full-time basis to use a range of tools and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant machinery and equipment to operational standards at locations in Darwin and surrounding areas.

Job Responsibility:

  • Identify and repair defective or worn mechanical components or equipment
  • Welding and light metal fabrication
  • Fitting, turning and machining
  • Pump rebuilds
  • Hydraulic works
  • Steam production and related maintenance
  • Maintenance and servicing of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment
  • Perform cyclic and preventative maintenance of various hospital equipment

Requirements:

  • Possess a Fitting and Turing qualification and have experience in this field
  • The ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers & stakeholders
  • Experience in maintenance and construction work related to the relevant industry
  • Good analytical skills and enjoy problem solving
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Take pride in your work
  • Manual Drivers Licence
  • Ability to successfully gain various federal police and security clearances as required
  • OCHRE Card (Working with Children), or have the ability to gain

Nice to have:

Desirable tickets include a restricted electrical licence &/or advanced boiler operations
