Job Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Manufacturing Systems Engineering department for the Summer of 2026. The Manufacturing Systems Engineering group designs and implements equipment for the production of instruments and consumables here at the 10x manufacturing facility. This 10-12 week internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the successful and efficient launch of a manufacturing line. The candidate will work with R&D to understand the system architecture of a new product. The candidate will then develop work instructions, test methods, test fixtures, and manufacturing tools to efficiently build and test the product in the manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Create Work instructions
  • Author test methods and processes
  • Design, build and validate text fixtures
  • Train operators and develop test methods and assembly instructions
  • Implement 5S strategies onto the manufacturing floor

Requirements:

  • Current student who has completed at least their second year of undergraduate degree, ideally Mechanical, Software, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Hands-on experience fabricating or wiring electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Able to commit to a full-time internship program for 10-12 weeks during summer of 2026
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
