Job Responsibility:
Develop and test mechanical designs, including trade studies, concept and detailed designs, BOMs, drawings, engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and associated documentation
Implement and maintain scoped product or system features with minimal guidance
Apply engineering principles and standard tools to execute product designs
Utilize analysis tools to verify design concepts
Assemble, test, and evaluate prototypes for functionality and performance
Identify design and product risks, propose mitigations, and communicate scope changes to the project manager
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Complete tasks within estimated timeframes (+/- 20%) and anticipate potential overruns
Participate in design reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving within project-level engineering
Follow technical lead guidance and collaborate effectively within the team
Serve as a lead on small teams, providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
Review technical work of team members for accuracy and completeness
Collect, develop, and analyze design inputs
Contribute to project planning, estimation, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical design or related engineering roles
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerance analysis, and engineering calculations
Proficiency in CAD software and standard engineering tools
