Job Description:

Marine Engineering Technicians – Electrical & Mechanical | Up to £21.57/hr | 6-Month Contract. We are looking for skilled Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to support a major marine engineering programme during deep maintenance periods. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your technical expertise will directly contribute to restoring and regenerating essential systems keeping operations moving forward.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintaining and assisting in the regeneration of key electrical and mechanical systems onboard vessels
  • Rectifying defects and ensuring equipment is safe, operational, and test-ready
  • Completing defect reports and system updates using a digital maintenance management system
  • Supporting ongoing deep maintenance projects and upkeeping responsibilities onboard ships
  • Communicating effectively with engineering teams and stakeholders to report on system condition and readiness

Requirements:

  • A level 2 or 3 qualification (ONC, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
  • Proven experience as a mechanical or electrical technician
  • Ability to carry out physical work onboard ships regularly
  • Strong IT literacy for reporting and maintenance logging
  • A proactive, flexible approach to general marine maintenance and upkeeping duties
  • Great teamwork and communication skills

  • Professionals from a marine, defence, or structured engineering background
