Apech Labs is a small business that supports the aerospace, military and energy industries through rapid prototyping and product development. Our core competencies include complex electromechanical systems, control systems, mechanisms, and power systems. Job Responsibility:

  • Support and / or lead mechanical design of mechanisms, mechanical systems and test equipment
  • Perform engineering sizing for critical design elements at both component and assembly level
  • Support and / or lead 3D modeling and drawing creation of products/components
  • Contribute to assembly and inspection of customer deliverable hardware
  • Participate in testing efforts from design and hardware assembly to collecting data
  • Machine and modify hardware (manual tools, CNC, etc.) in machine shop environment
  • Documentation of engineering work, including reports and revision control
  • Participate in operations planning and maintenance
  • Manage the project and interface with customers and suppliers as needed
  • Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • United States Citizenship, or the legal ability to work in the U.S.
  • 5 years’ experience (or 3 years with an MS degree)

Nice to have:

  • Mechanism design experience and manufacturing knowledge
  • Mechanical analysis experience (Finite Element, Matlab/Simulink, Mathcad, Excel)
  • Direct experience with Aerospace/Defense/Military industry and standards
  • 3D Modeling capability with thorough understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing (tolerance stack, GD&T, etc)
  • Experience of managing the project and interface with customers and suppliers
  • Experience with 3D printing process
  • Relevant classes: structural dynamics, kinematics, vibrations, finite element analysis, and strength of materials
