Job Description:

As a member of the Information Governance Department, the Matter Mobility Data Administrator will oversee all technical aspects of mobilizing client records into and out of the Firm, collaborating closely with practice groups, administrative departments, the General Counsel, Office Administrators, and other relevant staff to ensure compliance with the Firm’s information governance processes and procedures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee all technical aspects of mobilizing client records into and out of the Firm
  • Collaborate closely with practice groups, administrative departments, the General Counsel, Office Administrators, and other relevant staff to ensure compliance with the Firm’s information governance processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate expert understanding of electronic client data which will be applied to the collection, analysis/review, secure transport, and documentation of such data
  • Work with the newly integrated attorneys and in coordination with the IT department at the prior firm to retrieve matter data
  • Communicate with attorneys and Legal Administrative Assistants as new data comes in and track data that is received
  • Advise attorneys to open matters as the new data is received and help them to provide a cross reference of old to new matters
  • Provide timely reports by writing queries and join tables SQL. Design SQL scripts that can be easily manipulated to efficiently address similar future analyses
  • Follow established procedures to protect the integrity and authenticity of records
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends and evolving technology
  • Oversee the purging of individual accounts based the Firm’s retention policies
  • Coordinate the work of Matter Mobility Data Technicians ensuring that projects are completely in an efficient and timely manner
  • Evaluate matter mobility projects to establish timelines and resources to estimate the work needed and to effectively manage project execution
  • Work closely with the Director of Information Governance on building the matter mobility team
  • Handle all complex matter mobility projects
  • Work closely with Information Services Department on system upgrades and/or implementation of new software or ESI tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in matter mobility
  • Prior experience in data migration is required
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Experience with iManage Records Manager (iRM), FileTrail, and Comply (LegalRM) preferred
  • Proficient or advanced knowledge of document management systems, preferably iManage
  • The ability to write queries and join tables for reports
  • Ability to recognize data in load files and translate prior to import into iManage
  • Able to combine multiple and manipulate data
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to handle voluminous projects, deadlines and tasks through completion accurately, agility in handling shifting priorities, effective teamwork skills
  • Detail orientation, accuracy, adaptability, outstanding client service, ability to analyze for best solutions

Nice to have:
