The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for facility layout redesign efforts that improve efficiency, optimize material flow, and support operational and strategic goals. This role plays a key part in evaluating layout proposals, validating design concepts, and ensuring facility layouts align with production, safety, and capacity requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and support facility layout redesign initiatives for existing and new spaces
Develop, review, and validate layout proposals to ensure feasibility and alignment with operational needs
Optimize material flow to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and constraints
Analyze space utilization, equipment placement, and workflow impacts
Prepare layout drawings, models, and supporting documentation
Support implementation planning and coordinate layout changes with stakeholders
Identify risks, constraints, and opportunities related to layout and material flow
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, or related field)
Experience with facility layout design and space planning
Strong understanding of material flow principles and lean manufacturing concepts
Proficiency with layout and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio, or similar software)
Analytical problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Nice to have:
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or logistics environments
Familiarity with lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
Experience supporting proposal reviews or design validation efforts
