Job Description:

As a Software Engineering Manager at Highspot, you will inspire, lead, and grow a team of creative and talented core engineers within the Meeting Intelligence product. You’ll support the engineers on your team in building software with a spark of magic. You’ll bring your technical expertise and proven people management skills to bear on strategic decisions about our technical ecosystem, team operations, team norms, and engineering culture. You’ll also be a key decision-maker within your product area.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a team of engineers, inspiring and motivating your team to do their best work
  • Manage the smooth execution of the team against product and engineering delivery goals
  • Participates in and facilitates stakeholder communication about the team’s progress and shifting timelines
  • Bring your technical expertise to the evolution of Highspot’s software
  • ensure that our architecture and stack are optimized
  • Consistently deliver a product that maximizes product quality, security, and reliability
  • Leverage AI strategically to infuse the Highspot product
  • Collaborate with key partners in your product area
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of the engineers on your team
  • Uphold and build upon Highspot’s culture
  • Create a collaborative environment where all levels of engineers can contribute
  • Partner with the Services team to understand what drives customer joy
  • Advocate for the tools, process, and resources the core dev team needs
  • Ensure architects, stakeholders, and SMEs are appropriately involved in decisions
  • Ensure decisions are communicated effectively within and outside of your team

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years experience managing software engineering teams
  • Hands-on experience developing and scaling cloud-native applications and frameworks
  • Interest in attracting and retaining engineering talent from diverse backgrounds
  • Proven success as a partner and collaborator who prioritizes the success of the team over individual aspirations
  • Understanding of the SDLC for SaaS applications and previous experience designing and building software products at scale
  • Working knowledge of modern object-oriented and functional programming languages (Javascript/Typescript, React, Ruby, Python preferred)
  • At least senior engineering proficiency and skills in writing, reviewing and maintaining production-quality code
  • Experience building and maintaining 1st and 3rd party integrations

Nice to have:

  • Some experience building products that leverage machine learning and modern AI technology is a plus
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, priding yourself on getting things done with a high level of quality
