We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a high‑impact team building AMD’s diagnostics software suite critical tools that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our products across a wide range of platforms. In this role, you will shape technical direction, drive execution, and deliver diagnostics solutions used throughout product bring‑up, validation, and manufacturing. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, architects, and cross‑functional partners across hardware, validation, and product teams, operating in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where your leadership directly impacts AMD’s ability to deliver world‑class technology.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and mentor a fast‑moving diagnostics software engineering team, driving alignment, execution, and delivery
Define and evolve the technical roadmap for diagnostics tools and frameworks in partnership with senior engineers and architects
Translate product and engineering requirements into clear backlogs, schedules, and execution plans
Establish and refine software development processes across the full lifecycle, from design through release
Drive strong technical decision‑making around architecture, technology selection, and implementation
Own delivery commitments by tracking progress, managing risks, and communicating clearly with stakeholders
Define and monitor key engineering metrics to continuously improve software quality, reliability, and productivity
Collaborate closely with hardware, validation, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure diagnostics solutions meet performance, quality, and usability needs
Requirements:
Experience managing software engineering teams and delivering complex, production‑level software
Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices across the full development lifecycle
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Familiarity with end‑to‑end software development in a hardware‑centric or systems environment
Knowledge of silicon IPs or chip hardware blocks and their associated product lifecycles
Background in diagnostics, validation tools, manufacturing test, or system bring‑up
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
