Job Description:

The Manager, Payer Partnerships and Contracting will immediately become an important leader on the Oak Street Health team. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship skills, be self-directed, and enjoy working with a team in a fast-paced environment, while bringing their experience and innovative ideas. Highly successful candidates will have existing familiarity with managed care systems/processes and will have an expressed interest in managing a team as they continue career progression.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as organizational lead in OSH relationships with at least two large health plans, including contracting, implementation, operations, and ongoing management of the partnerships
  • approach health plan relationships with the mindset of a 'business owner'
  • project-manage and own issues to resolution
  • develop opportunities as they arise
  • relentlessly pursue opportunities to express the value that Oak Street delivers for health plan partners
  • proactively and professionally move contract negotiations forward, with strong understanding of key contract terms and the impact they have on Oak Street's financial and operational performance
  • develop deep understanding of OSH financial operations/workflows and their key intersection points with health plan processes
  • analyze financial implications of existing and potential future health plan contracts, quantifying and communicating organizational risk to senior leadership
  • lead payer implementations independently
  • collaborate with other teams at OSH to drive strategic initiatives with payers and to resolve outstanding payer issues
  • proactively develop and share ideas for how to improve OSH workflows
  • lead conversations proactively and strategically with executives and field leadership on value-add activities and initiatives with payers
  • support delegated activities as required (e.g., identification of business requirements for system implementation, oversight of vendor driven activities)
  • manage and develop associates on the Managed Care Operations team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persistent
  • excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and impeccable business judgment
  • ability to independently pursue and implement solutions to complex problems
  • ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
